I received an email from Debbie Altobello, Fundraising Coordinator for the Literacy Volunteer Program of South Georgia, Inc asking me to help get the word out about the Bowl-for Literacy event this September. Below are the details.
What: Bowl-for-Literacy Fall 2010
When: September 18, 2010
Where: Jac’s Lanes (406 Connell Rd.)
Time: 12:00 to 4:00 PM
Donation required to bowl: $20.00 per person (try to get together 5 person teams) – pays for 3 games, shoe and ball rental.
All monies collected benefit our students and the Literacy Volunteer Program of South Georgia, Inc. Please help us stamp out illiteracy in your community.

The Quota Club is hosting our 2nd annual "Valdosta's Got Talent" competition. It will be held on October 18, 2010 @ 7:00 pm. @ the VHS, Performing Arts Center. This year the proceeds will benefit: Mission Point and The Child Advocacy Center. . The ticket price is $10/pp. They can be purchased prior to the event from Guardian Bank on Norman Drive and from Brooker Insurance Agency, Bemiss Rd. They may also purchased at the door the night of the event.
Preliminary auditions were held last weekend and 16 performers were selected. They will compete for cash prizes and awards. We will also be holding a silent auction and 50/50 raffle.
