Doris Stubblefield McClellan
A woman of love, faith and courage.

Mom,

Although you have had to battle cancer three times, you never wavered from your faith. Below are a couple of love letters that are a testimony to your faith and love you've given your family.

As you continue to fight this very aggressive breast cancer *(IBC) your family also continues to grow and you keep passing on your legacy to your great-grand babies.

You are my sweet and gentle mom. There is no other love like a mothers love. There has never been a time when I didn't love you. You stood by me with love and patience. You taught me what it means to be a strong and loving woman.

I want to thank you for all the times you grabbed me by the hair and shook some sense into me. And the many times my legs got strapped. Cause without this love I would have been meaner and more hateful than I am. :)

Your Favorite Daughter

Granny,

You have touched so many lives, mine being one in particular. Without you in my life there is no telling what kind of person I would have become. You are the kind of Granny that you just want to hug and love on. I just want you to know how much you mean to me. I have learned how to be a better person by watching you and seeing your love and honesty. Your faith shines through and makes me believe in better things when life seems so discouraging. I just hope that I can have just a small portion of your strength and courage. We all love you so much and are blessed to have you in our lives. There's no other granny that I would want more.

I love you, Crystal

Granny:

I want to share with you some of my fondest memories so far. You did so many small things that made such a big difference to a little girl's heart. For example, I can still remember taking a nap in your bedroom. I must have been 4 or 5 years old. I can remember you would put on the radio so that I would not be scared. In between songs I would hear "WAFTing on the rolling tide. Jesus Saves." From a young age, you have helped my Mom shape me into the woman that I have become today. You have taught me a lot about life and love by teaching me right from wrong, singing the song "Jesus Loves Me" together, kissing my boo boos, putting warm oil in my ears when my ears hurt, and lathering my legs with Ben Gay when I would have growing pains. These are all very warm memories that I will have and carry with me for the rest of my life. When it is my turn, I will aspire to be the warm, patient, loving, dependable grandmother one day that you have so eloquently modeled for me.

Thank you for everything.

I LOVE you! Brenda
